The Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) on Wednesday concluded that the victim died a violent death in the hands of the killer inside Room 314 of a budget hotel in Lapasan.

Results of the postmortem examination also showed that the victim did not have sexual intercourse with the suspect who gave the names “Jason Caram” and “Jason Caramba.”

Police earlier theorized that Nena (not her real name), whose body was found sprawling inside the room’s toilet on Tuesday, died of suffocation because her head was in a plastic wrap.

Dr. Christian Caballes, Soco medicolegal officer here, told Nena’s relatives that the suspect killed the teenager with his bare hands.

“Ang tibo-ok ulo ni (Nena) nalomoy, ug ang right side sa iyang ulo nabu-ak tungod sa grabing kulata sa maong suspect,” said Jasmine Baguio, one of the victim’s relatives.

Baguio also said Caballes informed them that there was no indication that the killer and the victim had sexual relations.

Caballes performed the autopsy at the morgue of Bollozos Funeral Homes in Bulua on Wednesday afternoon.

Caballes said the killer did not use any weapon and neither did he slam the teenager against the concrete wall.

“Kamot ra gyud sa suspect ang iyang gigamit pagpatay sa akong pag-omangkon,” said Baguio as she cited Caballes’s findings.

Caballes however found signs that Nena was also chocked.

Contusions were found on the abdomen, chest, and all over the face. The victim was beyond recognition.

Baguio said Nena’s family members find it hard to accept that the teenager who would have turned 17 years old this month died a violent death.

Nena’s body was brought to her relative’s house in Barangay Macabalan.

The victim’s mother Rizalina said her family opted to bring the body to Macabalan because they feared for their security in Barangay Pagatpat where they relocated after surviving the 2011 Typhoon Sendong devastation.

Rizalina earlier alleged that she strongly suspected that Nena’s murder had something to do with the rape and other complaints she and her murdered daughter filed against Pagatpat barangay  chairman Achilles Jude Babaran.

Babaran denied he had anything to do with the murder or the suspect. He also strongly denied raping Nena in 2015.
