FORMER Taglimao barangay chairman William Guialani over the weekend said he may just pursue his legal battle against Mayor Oscar Moreno if he receives financial support.

Guialani said his announcement of a “peace offering” to Moreno was mainly due to his money problems.

“Gustuhon man nako ipadayon akong krusada, dili na nako mapadayon… I have strong evidence but financially, wala nakoy isukol,” he said.

On Friday, Guialani said he was planning on asking a friend to arrange a meeting between him and Moreno at city hall so he could “surrender” and apologize to the mayor.

After asking for Moreno’s forgiveness, he said he would even sign a waiver, withdraw all the cases he filed and just “walk away.”

But on Saturday, Guialani said that if people wanted him to continue his legal battle, then he was open to the idea of fundaising.

“Karon kung gusto sa katawhan nga ipadayon akong krusada, pwes, puwede mag-fundaising ang mga tao para mapadayon nako ang maong mga kasokay karon mu-surrender na gyud ko apan magpadayon ako kung naay musuporta nko nga katawhan,” he said.

He said he would need at least P50 thousand just to follow-up a case in Manila together with his lawyer.

Guialani said he has been dependent on his daughter who is in Canada, and no politician has ever supported him in his legal battle.

He claimed that his daughter works as a nurse in Canada, and she has stopped sending him support.

“Dili tinuod nga gibiyaan ko ug wa na gisuportahan sa mga politiko nga gusto mgpatangtang kang Moreno kay maski sentimo, wa ko gibaligya ang akong pagkatao,” Guialani said.

One of the cases filed by Guilalani against Moreno nearly cost the mayor his post late last year when the then vice mayor Caesar Ian Acenas attempted to take over as mayor based on the Office of the Ombudsman’s decision that dismissed and disqualified Moreno from holding public office.

The Court of Appeals (CA) dismissed the case and reversed the ombudsman’s decision. The Commission on Elections (Comelec) also dismissed Guialani’s disqualification case against Moreno.
