Jealous man kills common law wife

BLIND rage pushed a 35-year-old construction worker to stab his common-law wife after he caught her with another man in bed.

SPO4 Permio Hadji Isah, deputy station commander of Police Precinct 8, Barangay Lumbia, identified the suspect as Cecilo Bella, 47, residing at Barangay Mambuaya, Cagayan de Oro City.

Isah said Bella stabbed to death his live-in partner Cecil Bacan after he caught her with another man identified as Ruel Tomas who was on the bed.

Bacan, a resident of Sitio 1 of the same place, sustained several stab wounds to the body that resulted in her instantaneous death.

Tomas, 36, a jeepney conductor, on the other hand, was hit only in the hand and was able to run away.

The incident took place at around 5:30 pm Sunday inside a nipa hut at sitio Monik.

Bella said he was forced to kill Bacan after he saw her personally having sex with Tomas twice inside the latter’s house.

Sa pirmiro nakong kakita nila ako lang silang gipasagdan kay gihuna-huna nako among mga anak,” Bella said.

It was learned that the couple has three kids and were living together for 17 years.

The suspect said he regretted what he did to Bacan saying, it is now their children who will suffer.

Isah said a murder case is now being prepared against Bella who is now temporarily detained at Lumbia mini-cell.
