Misamis Oriental Gov. Bambi Emano accepted the initial delivery of heavy equipment as he declares a massive implementation of various infrastructure projects in the province, Friday, over the weekend.

The equipment consisted of six (6) units of vibratory compactors (pison), two (2) backoe, two (2) graders, and two (2 ) payloader were lined up and blessed Friday afternoon at the capitol compound before being deployed to various project sites.

“These equipment are part of the P250 million loan we made; on which the P30 million-worth of hospital equipment we delivered some two weeks ago to our hospitals were also part of,” Gov. Emano said.

The Governor added these equipment would be a significant support to the barangay empowerment program; a program he initiated by empowering barangay officials to implement projects of their choice.

He further explained that for a while there was a slow-down in infrastructure projects due to some constraints brought about by the lack of necessary equipment.

“I took over equipment from the previous administration which were practically useless. Those that were left in operation were cheaper to be grounded than repaired,” Gov. Emano declared.

A task force he created early to search and evaluate the equipment which were in the books of the provincial government in the early days of his administration, discovered many units were abandoned in various stages of disrepair in several places of the province.

“Our determination to give our people the development they deserve could not be held back with whatever barriers the previous administration set before us. I refuse to be defined by their negative ideas and anti-people stance,” Gov. Emano said.

He has already ordered the Provincial Engineers’ Office to prioritize these equipment on infrastructure projects most needed by the local governments.

“We cannot do all projects even if these are deemed important and necessary AT THE SAME TIME. But assure you that we will pursue these projects wherever they are without any partisan political consideration, as we opt in everything we do,” Gov. Emano concluded. (advt)
