IT looks like a family affair.

Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin Uy yesterday went public with the list of “job order” workers under Councilor Lordan Suan that allegedly includes the councilor’s father, sister, uncle, and even his girlfriend’s relative.

Uy cautioned Suan during the city council’s regular session yesterday afternoon, warning him against nepotism.

According to Uy, the list of “job orders” under Suan includes the councilor’s father Agapito Jr., sister Clarissa Mae, uncle Eriberto Gualberto Jr. and another relative Ramon Gualberto.

Uy also said another “job order” worker, Henry Rago, is said to be a relative of Suan’s girlfriend.

Uy dropped the bombshell against Suan apparently as a response to an administrative case filed against the vice mayor by a “job order” worker under the councilor.

The worker, Eric Alcantara, filed a complaint against Uy for violation of the code of conduct and ethical standards for public officials, grave abuse of authority, oppression and gross misconduct before the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

In a two-page affidavit submitted to DILG city officer Jean Docallos on March 27, 2017, Alcantara said he worked for over two months as a “job order” worker but wasn’t paid because Uy did not approve his papers.

He said Uy did not act on Suan’s request for the appointment and renewal of appointment papers of “job order” workers under the councilor’s office.

Alcantara said he went to see Uy in his office in Feb. 28 and was allegedly told by the vice mayor that he did not approve Suan’s request because they were “part of the [city council] minority…”

Alcantara also alleged that Uy disclosed to him that Mayor Oscar Moreno instructed the vice mayor to hold the appointment papers of the “job order” workers under the city council minority members.

Before the city council yesterday, Uy asked Suan how the councilor could expect him to approve the “job order” workers who have allegedly not been reporting for work.

“They don’t even have an attendance based on the record,” Uy said.

Uy questioned some of the “job order” workers under Suan, pointing out that they were the councilor’s relatives. He then read some of the names in the list.

Addressing Suan, Uy asked: “How are you related to Agapito Suan Jr.? I think this is your father. Clarissa Mae Suan–I think this is your sister. Eriberto Gualberto Jr.–I think this is the brother of your mother. Henry Rago–I  think this is related to your girlfriend. Ramon Gualberto… I think… Are you aware about nepotism? So how can you expect me to approve it? That it is a violation  of the law.”
