TAGUM City– The city government here conducted the Enhanced Genuine Peace and Security Forum II on Tuesday, aiming to attain genuine peace and security in the city.

The forum is a venue for the stakeholders to realistically assess the peace situation in the city by recognizing the problems that are continuously besetting the city and to come up with solutions that best address security problems.

Mayor Allan Rellon said that there are things needed to be done before genuine peace and security in the city is fully achieved.

During the forum, the resources required, responsible units and success indicators were identified.

Newly installed Philippine National Police (PNP) chief of Tagum City Police P/Superintendent LitoPatay, presented the strategies and innovations of their office.

A Patrol Plan wherein the speed of their mobile vehicles patrolling the designated areas in the city are significantly decreased to 15 kph to 20 kph in order to further spot criminals and suspicious looking persons.

Patay said there has been a significant decrease in the criminal incidences of ransacking, snatching, robbery and shooting after last year’s holding of the first edition of the peace forum. (pna)
