ZAMBOANGA CITY ( March 9, 2016 ) –  In line with the vision to bring back a better Zamboanga, 104 permanent houses constructed under the Zamboanga City Roadmap to Recovery and Reconstruction (Z3R) in Tulungatung were turned over to families affected by the 2013 siege on Saturday.

The turnover rites Saturday, spearheaded by Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco and National Housing Authority (NHA) officials, was the second for the Z3R Tulungatung Housing Project since October 2015 when 58 units were also unveiled.

A total of 383 housing units are up for construction at the Tulungatung housing project with a total cost of P78.62 million. The project is undertaken by the Bilrey Construction Company and is supervised by the NHA.

Of the 104 families awarded with permanent houses, 67 are from the Tulungatung transitory site while the others are either from Masepla or home-based.

Apart from receiving their certificates of award, the families also received P10,000 cash assistance for use in the power and water connections.

to the turnover Saturday, the beneficiaries underwent social preparation to orient them on the do’s and don’ts in transferring to their permanent houses.

Mayor Climaco urged the beneficiaries to properly take care of their new houses and to comply with the rules and regulations stipulated in the Code of Beneficiary Selection.

She reiterated her firm stand’s on Z3R project turnover that the City Government will not accept and turnover houses to siege-affected families if the housing units are not built within standards and comply with the requirements on septage.

More permanent housing units are expected to be turned over in the coming days.
