The accident happened at the crossing diversion road in Igpit, Opol town in Misamis Oriental at about 7 pm.

Opol traffic investigator Police Master Sgt. Arnel Acero identified the injured as Dexter Gerald, the motorcycle driver, 28, and his passengers Anatallio Luntayao, 24; Roger Mugot, 52, all residents of Bagocboc, Opol, and Andro Amporegis, 27, a resident of Sitio Awang, Tingala-an, Opol.

Acero said Gerald, Luntayao, and Mugot were rushed by Opol rescuers to NMMC because they were fatally injured while Amporegis refused assistance since he suffered only minor wounds.

The traffic investigator added that the four injured were riding a black Baja motorcycle with temporary plate number 1001-385633 from Barangay Bulua in Cagayan de Oro City and were en route to Barangay Bagocboc.

When they reached the crossing diversion road in Igpit they rammed against a black pick-up truck with plate number KGM-267. Acero said the vehicle is owned by “He and Sons” company and was coming in from Laguindingan Airport.

Acero identified the driver of the pick-up truck as Rolex Magallanes, a resident of Zone 3, Amoros, El Salvador City.

He added that both the pick-up truck and the motorcycle are in their custody pending further investigation on the incident.

Acero said Magallanes promised them they will be paying for the hospital bills of the four injured.
