City Police Chief Leony Roy Ga said the curfew hours has been lifted from Dec. 15 to 31 in observance of the Christmas season. The curfew, however, will be implemented again on Jan. 1, 2018.

It was learned that city mayor Celso Regencia had signed an Executive Order lifting temporarily the curfew hours of the city. The curfew hours, to note, is from 11:00 pm to 4:00 am every day.

To recall, this is not the first time since martial law was observed in Mindanao beginning May 23, that the city has been observing  days without curfew hours.

During the fiesta season in September, curfew was also suspended from Sept. 28 to Oct. 1 as the city marked the Feast of St. Michael the Archangel.

No untoward incident happened on said days and Ga said he is hoping that  circumstances would not warrant a re-imposition of curfew during the holidays.

This week, he said,  they will be deploying reinforcements from Cagayan de Oro.
