The PLDT-Smart annual “Ka-Partner Retailer Convention” was held at the Limketkai, Atrium in July 24. It is a gathering of over a thousand sari-sari storeowners from Cagayan de Oro, Bukidnon, Iligan, Dipolog, Ozamiz and Zamboanga.
The venue was filled with micro-entrepreneurs enjoying the festivities the event offers. According to the company’s profile, Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) is a wholly-owned wireless communications and digital services subsidiary of PLDT, Inc. Smart serves approximately 95% of the country’s cities and municipalities with its combined 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE network, providing mobile communications services, high-speed internet connectivity, and access to digital services and content to over 58.7 million Filipinos.
As part of PLDT’s massive digital transformation program, Smart has committed to giving more than 90% of the population access to its most advanced LTE network by end-2018, in order to support the country’s growing digital economy, as well as provide the best customer experience for an increasingly digital Filipino lifestyle.
This event is a way for PLDT-Smart in saying thanks to the retailers for their continued support and providing the load requirements of our millions of subscribers in North and West Mindanao. No less than Cagayan de Oro Mayor Oscar S. Moreno joined PLDT-Smart executives during the opening ceremonies of the event. Retailers and guests enjoyed the booths, games, prizes, and exclusive deals during the whole-day event, which also highlighted the colorful festivals of Mindanao. Flamboyant and creative costumes were paraded representing each region among the delegates.
Bernardo Deatras, Area Development Manager in Northern Mindanao shares that their “subscribers and retailers should look forward to our continued services and network improvements the company has to offer and we are looking forward to the continued support from our retailer partners for a bigger convention next year.”
