It was a glorious night as twelve lovely candidates representing Barangay Cugman’s different zones competed in this years Miss Cugman, which ultimately led to the crowning of the new reigning queen Judie Maris Jagape of Zone 8.

The said event is one of the highlight activity of Barangay Cugman fiesta in honor of its patron Sr. San Vicentie Ferrer held earlier this month. The pageant was held at its barangay covered court on April 3 in the evening.

Three gorgeous women dominated other contestant vying for the crown during a breathtaking moment of silence two ladies (Tracy Lagua) came up on stage anxiously waiting for the final result which Jagape bested eleven other candidates and was crowned as Miss Cugman 2024. Lagua was crowned as Miss Cugman Tourism and Marichie Gulle Ballentos was crowned as Miss Cugman Charity.

During a brief interview with Jagape shared that winning Miss Cugman this year provided her with opportunities to broaden her insights to the endless possibilities that coming her way.

“Winning the crown doesn’t only gave me doors of opportunities. It opened a path for me to broaden my advocacy and give a helping hand to my fellow cugmanons. I personally believe that the platform given to me will be my stepping stone in representing every cugmanon in the best possible way.

Adding “This competition didn’t just gave me the experience of a lifetime, but also gave me the true essence of pageantry. With Miss Cugman Crown, this will allow me to amplify my causes and make every difference worthwhile. I am a cugmanon, and my heart will always be for my beloved cugman,” Jagape shared.

In the coming Miss Cagayan de oro 2024 in August. She is set to compete in this year’s city-wide search of the said city and is already preparing both mentally and physically for it. Excitement and determination shown during the Miss Cugman 2024 boasted her confidence as she hopes to be one of the lucky women vying for the coveted crown.

“As an aspiring candidate for Miss CDO, I would start by focusing on physical fitness, committing to a balanced diet and exercise, talent refinement, public speaking practice, and staying informed about national and local events and issues. But I would approach my preparation with dedication, determination, and a commitment to represent Barangay Cugman with grace and excellence on the Miss CDO stage,” Jagape said.

With the support of her fellow ka-barangay she hopes she would make them proud in the coming Miss Cagayan de Oro pageant.
“My gratitude goes out first to our Almighty God who gave me the strength to conquer my weaknesses, and who gave me the confidence to present myself out in the crowd. I am also grateful for the undying support of my parents who gave me the reason to pursue this career. And of course, to my fellow cugmanons who gave me the chance to represent them in the city-wide pageant, MISS CDO 2024. This didn’t only mean the crown to me, but also meant the responsibility given to me, and that is to represent Cugman and make cugman known to a lot of people,” she concluded.

The said event was spearheaded by Barangay Cugman lead by its Chairman Maria Luisa M.
