National Irrigation Administration (NIA) administrator Ricardo Visaya on Friday confirmed that there are NIA managers that are now under investigation because of negligence and corruption.
“Noong nag take over ako ito yong pinaka problematic na region (Region 10). Ang daming na declare na projects na tapos na , eh yon pala hindi pa natapos or hindi pa nauumpishan”, said Visaya.
Visaya opted not to name names because according to him the involved persons are still under investigation. He reiterated that these people were already relieved from their service.
In Region 10, Visaya said that there are three persons who were under investigation in Central Office in Manila.
“May isang regional manager, irrigation manager, at isang office manager,” he categorized.
Visaya even added that as the investigation goes deeper the more names will be divulged.
Visaya bared that more of the projects (managers) that are under investigation are in Lanao del Norte and Lanano del Sur .
Meanwhile, Visaya defended their administration mainly for those who wanted their office to be dissolved because of their alleged delayed projects and other anomalies.
“Na accused kami na delayed projects worth 20 Billion. Magandang maimbestigahan talaga so that we can make reports,” he said.
Despite controversies Visaya said that they are doing their best to deliver especially here in Mindanao.
