THE water supply from the Cagayan de Oro Bulk Water Supply Inc. (Cobi) would be reduced by half this weekend, the Cagayan de Oro Water District (COWD) said yesterday.

“This is due to the Cobi activity of putting online the newly installed VFDs at the Booster Pumping Station and Softstarters at Intake Pumping Station,” reads part of the COWD statement.

COWD said the reduction of water volume will be felt in both western and eastern areas of the city.

“This shall cause low pressure to no water in Lumbia Canitoan, Pagatpat, Patag, Bulua to Opol, as well as in Camaman-an, (especially) in elevated areas and during peak demand periods,” COWD said.

When Cobi resumes the supply of 80 million liters per day tomorrow, COWD said, it would take one to two hours for the water pressure to build up and for the supply to normalize in the affected areas.
