AN executive order that Misamis Occidental Gov. Philip Tan issued Tuesday requires the issuance of eight types of card pass, each with assigned color that indicates the purpose of the travel of the bearer.

Tan’s Executive Order 45-A, which extends the general community quarantine period from April 15 to April 30 province-wide, includes the color-coded card passes that are issued free of charge by city and municipal mayors as a containment strategy to limit the spread of 2019 coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

These eight cards passes are the provincial quarantine trade pass (violet), provincial quarantine medical pass (red), provincial employee pass (orange), personal business trade pass (yellow), personal quarantine self-employed pass (gold), provincial border quarantine trade pass (green), barangay shopping pass (blue), and provincial interagency task force identification card (black).

As stipulated in the said EO, all these card passes may be used from their issuance until April 30, except for the red, yellow, and green card passes that are single-use travel privileges only within 24 hours.

All those who need card passes must present valid government-issued IDs to the office of the city or town mayor, and/or papers to prove one’s employment, medical condition, business and company being represented.

Mandatory wearing of face masks, observance of a 9 pm to 4 am curfew daily, and public transport limits from 5 am to 6 pm, among other restrictions on travels and crowd-drawing activities, are included in the latest capitol-issued Covid-19 containment measure. (Uriel C. Quilinguing)
