A total of 250 rookie policemen took their oath, today, before their families and love ones in a ceremony held at the Police Regional Office 10 (PRO-10) in Camp Alagar, Barangay Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City.

PRO-10 deputy regional director for administration Police Brigadier General Ferdinand A Sifuentes administered the oath of the new policemen of the Philippine National Police (PNP), who were able to pass the selection process for the Police Officer 1 (PO1) level.

Camp Alagar spokesman Lt. Colonel Mardy Hortillosa said the new cops will beef up the manpower complement of PRO 10 to further strengthen PNP capabilities to lead the fight against criminality, corruption, terrorism, and illegal drugs to ensure public safety and security.

Hortillosa said Anduyan welcomed the new batch of PO1s in the region, and praised them for passing the rigid screening process such as neuropsychiatric test, physical agility test, random drug tests, complete background investigation, physical, medical and dental examination.

Chief, PNP Gen Archie Francisco F. Gamboa delivered his message thru online broadcast during the simultaneous oath-taking ceremony of the new cops were 213  male and 37 female.

Hortillosa said the new police officers have taken their oath of office as new members of the PNP with the rank of Patrolman/Patrolwoman in temporary status.

They will receive a basic salary of P29,688.00 each, aside from allowances and other non-cash benefits, similar to the regular police officer holding the same rank., according to Hortillosa,

They will be turned over to the Regional Training Center 10 for the Public Safety Basic Recruit Course which form part of PRO 10 Regular Recruitment Program quota for CY 2020 out from 1,401 who applied from the beginning.

Hortillosa said that after the oath-taking, the new cops were immediately assigned to the Regional Training Center 10 for their six months Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC). (Ben Balce)
