Dr. Adriano Suba-an, director of Department of Health Region 10, today allayed anxieties among the 3,600 provincial government employees of Bukidnon that one of them has tested positive for coronavirus disease.

“First, the test result was inconclusive and the re-swab was negative,” said Suba-an in today’s regional Covid-19 task force briefing, adding that all others also tested negative from Covid-19 infections.

He said that the suspension of work is for the routine disinfection.

A social media post that a female employee was tested positive for Covid-19 went viral yesterday afternoon minutes after Gov. Jose Ma. Zubiri issued an indefinite suspension of work in all offices effective immediately.

Zubiri did not mention the reason behind his directive.

Earlier, the governor instructed the provincial human resource development and budget offices to facilitate the swabbing of all capitol workers for reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction tests to determine their health status.

“We’re closely monitoring this and if there are who show symptoms of Covid-19, then we are willing to isolate, test, and treat them,” Suba-an said.
