OFFICIALS from the northern Mindanao agriculture department on Thursday have signed the Integrity Pledge, joining a private sector-led effort to institute controls to help curb corruption.
Agriculture regional executive director Carlene C. Collado led all DA-10 officials and staff to pledge “good governance and zero corruption,” during its meeting, on August 27, 2020.
Collado said by signing the Integrity Pledge, the DA-10 officials are committing to the objectives of the Integrity Initiative, a corporate-led campaign to promote ethical business practices and eliminate corruption in the country.
“It’s the pledge of good governance and zero corruption for the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO 10),” said Collado.
During the briefing of DA programs, Collado reminded them to perform their duties with the highest degree of moral integrity.
“Let us all forge a covenant by no tinge of corruption nor delay in the discharge of our solemn duties to the people in northern Mindanao,” Collado said adding that, particularly to farmers, fishers, and agripreneurs.
Collado’s move is in response to the call of President Rodrigo R. Duterte and DA Secretary William D. Dar to serve the Filipino people with utmost integrity and competence.
DA today according to Collado embarked on implementing various initiatives under the Plant, Plant, Plant program — particularly short-gestating projects that will provide immediate food and incomes to Filipino households due to pandemic.
Supporting Collado are DA regional technical director for operations Carlota Madriaga and RTD for Research and Regulations Carmelita T. Bajarala together with the division chiefs, program coordinators and provincial operations center chiefs of the region.
Collado emphasized the core values practiced by the department in its bid to deliver its services to the farmers and fisherfolk, which include transparency, accountability, efficiency that will guide the DA family for good governance. (Angie T. Cabig/DA-10)
