ILIGAN City ― Songs and poems with Bisaya as the medium will be showcased at Paseo de Santiago on the 28th and 29th, of this month.

According to lawyer Leo Zaragoza, this will be from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm on the said dates. The lawyer, to note is the national president of Lubas sa Dagang Bisaya (Ludabi) with mediaman Asterio ‘Terry’ Mecarsos as the president of the Iligan City-Lanao del Norte Chapter.

On the 28th, Zaragoza said, it will be the general public’s night to showcase their talents on said medium and on the 29th which is the day of the fiesta it will be the members of the Ludabi and those interested to become members of said organization to show their singing or balak (Bisaya poem) talents.

The organization, to note, was originally formed by persons writing in the said language. Later, it was expanded to include others who are interested not only in writing in Bisaya but also in some undertakings identified with the Bisaya like Kuratsa and other folk dances.

The whole month of September is known as the city fiesta and tourism month with activities lined up combining religious and tourism activities, to honor the city’s patron saint, St. Michael the Archangel.
