AUTHORITIES nabbed a number 1 most wanted carnapper Monday afternoon.
Acting Provincial Director of Misamis Occidental Police Provincial Office Police Col. Anthony Placido, identified the suspect as Emmanuel Perales, 32, single, and residing at Purok Matinabangon, Barangay Bagacay, Dumaguete City.
He was arrested by Police Highway Patrol Team Negros Oriental led by Police Chief Master Sgt. Aurelio Bodo with augmented personnel from other police units while at Purok 6, Barangay Talic, Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental at 3:15 pm.
Perales was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act 10883 (New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016).
Judge Gerardo Paguio, Jr., of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 40, Dumaguete City, allowed the suspect to put up a bail bond of P180,000 for his temporary liberty.
The suspect is now under the custodial facility of PHPT Negros Oriental.
