DIGOS City ― A motorcycle driver died on the spot when a passenger bus rolled over his body on Sunday night along the national highway in Barangay Bato, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur.

Lt. Colonel Kristopher Sabsal, Sta. Cruz acting police chief in a press statement, said the incident occurred at around 8:30 pm on July 9.

The investigation report showed that an orange color tricycle, a Yamaha motorcycle driven by Christopher T. Gabica, 42, single a resident of Camiguin, Barangay Aplaya, Digos City, and a Mindanao Star Bus were traveling along the national highway with the bus at the rear of the row.

Upon reaching Barangay Bato, the motorcycle and the tricycle collided where Gabica fell into the road and the bus rolled over his body causing his instantaneous death, the police report added.

Sabsal said the still unidentified driver of the tricycle quickly fled from the scene after the incident.

The motorcycle is registered to Milagros Gabica of Sitio Camiguin, Barangay Aplaya, Digos City.

Edgar D.Zamayla, 55, married, and a resident of Sinawilan, Matanao, Davao del Sur was the bus driver. He is temporarily placed under police custody.
