DIGOS City ― An 18-year-old person with a disability ended up in a hospital after his brother stabbed him several times following a simple misunderstanding, a police report said.

Police said the 20-year-old Murphy Navarroza arrived at their residence on Wednesday night at Purok-4, Barangay San Agustin, Digos City apparently under the influence of liquor.

Moments later, Murphy and his brother Johnkarl engaged in a verbal tussle wherein the former went wild, the report said.

As Johnkarl went into the room to check on Murphy, he was attacked with a 12-inch kitchen knife hitting the younger brother on the right foot, left elbow, and the back of the body.

Lt.Colonel Hamlet Lerios, Digos City police chief said responding police personnel rushed the victim to Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital for treatment.

He is in stable condition despite the wounds inflicted on him by his drunken brother.

Meanwhile, the police also arrested the suspect and placed them under police custody while waiting for the inquest proceedings.
