THE city administration under Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy is set to kick off another phase of the ‘cleanliness and transformation’ campaign, known as ‘Klarex nga Kalimpyo sa Kadalanan ug Tugkaran’, starting next week on January 26.
In May 2023, Mayor Uy signed Executive Order 104-2023 with the purpose of serving as a reminder to everyone to always maintain cleanliness and orderliness in their surroundings.
Sheila Lumbatan, the Chief of Staff of the city mayor’s office, expressed her optimism about the upcoming campaign, highlighting the importance of community involvement in maintaining a clean and orderly environment for all residents.
“The city administration hopes that through this initiative, the community will be inspired to take an active role in preserving the cleanliness and beauty of their surroundings, fostering a sense of pride and responsibility for their city,” said Lumbatan.
She said that the relaunch of the ‘Klarex nga Kalimpyo sa Kadalanan ug Tugkaran’ clean-up drive signifies the city’s ongoing commitment to promoting a clean and sustainable environment for the well-being of all its residents.
City Administrator lawyer Roy Hilario Raagas has emphasized the need for strong support from the community, establishments, and the entire populace, stressing that the well-being of the community is everyone’s responsibility.
The ‘Klarex nga Kalimpyo sa Kadalanan ug Tugkaran’ clean-up drive will be held every last Friday of the month, from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM, aiming to engage everyone in the noble effort of keeping the city clean and beautiful.
