IF early performance is any indication, then the Misamis Oriental baseball teams are bound for another impressive finish in the Mindanao Leg of the Philippine Series now in full throttle in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

The Paglaum Sports-backed MisOr hitters of Misamis Oriental ABC President Emmanuel Felix Pupos took the prestigious tourney’s opening day action by storm, in the same manner when they reigned supreme in previous regional eliminations of the Little League Philippines Series held in Saranggani province.

In the Minor League category, the MisOr teams ― anchored by the finest baseball talents from Medina town ― showed no mercy against host Malaybalay, 11-0.

They also manhandled Sultan Kudarat with the same 11-0 whipping in the Little League opener.

In the 14-under level, MisOr outlasted Davao del Norte, 7-3, and went on to blank North Cotabato, 19-0 in the softball women’s rivalry.

MisOr’s only loss was handed by Zamboanga, 10-2 for the 50/70 baseball bracket.

Before heading to the landlocked province of Bukidnon, Paglaum Sports overseer Chrysostom ‘Tammy’ Cailing joined Pupos, on behalf of Mayor Donator N. Chan and the local government unit of Medina, in the turn-over of baseball equipment and uniforms to Medina Baseball Club at the Medina Central School, over the weekend.

Cailing said Governor Peter ‘Sr Pedro’ M. Unabia is one with the baseball supporters both from the private and public sectors in solidifying Medina’s legacy as the breeding ground for the best athletes in the Mindanao Little League Philippines Series.

Baseball atrocities in Malaybalay City assembled the top Little League teams from all over Mindanao and will be slated until February 3.
