The Department of Agriculture here in Region 9 has extended support services to farmers that would support food staple sufficiency in the region.
“Through this farm machinery, we are looking forward to a high yield and productive farming in every cropping season,” said Assistant Director, Dr. Dennis H. Palabrica during the turned over ceremony.
The Provincial government employees and local officials in the province, representatives of the Multipurpose Corporations (MPC) and Farmers Associations (FA) witnessed the turnover ceremony of farm implements held recently at the Provincial Capitol, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay during the flag ceremony.
The machines distributed were one four wheel drive tractor for Bato Farmers MPC, Siay, one hand tractor for Caparan Farmers MPC, Ipil, one hand tractor for San Isidro, MPC, Payao, one mud boat for Balogo FA, Payao and one rice combine harvester for Gaulan FA, Diplahan.
Zamboanga Sibugay Gov. Wilter Yap Palma, was grateful to the Department of Agriculture for providing the farmers of the necessary farm implements that would assured them to increase their farm production.
He said that the visible support, they would exert more effort to strengthen farmers associations and corporations to boost agricultural production in the province. (icabeguin/da 9)
