GINGOOG City– Grabbing the prominent advantage of technological communication, Mayor Marie de Lara Guingona has optimistically launched the daily radio networking using the 2-way handheld radio among city’s 79 barangays by mandating the City Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) under officer-designate Marlon Pajo to regularly conduct a daily roll call scheduled every 7:00 AM and 7:00PM in order to interlink and monitor barangays’ updated conditions on peace and order, community’s events, societal affairs, and any incidents that need to be addressed and known by the local chief executive and by her concerned department heads.

“Kinahanglan masayud kita sa mga panghitabo sa tanang barangays matag-adlaw pinaagi sa radio network aron sa ingon mapalambo nato ang atong panaghiusa isip dakbayan ug matubag nato ang mga importanteng panginahanglan sa atong mga kaigsoonan”, stresses the lady mayor. Being the person in-charge on this networking, Mr. Pajo has designated his officemates led by Michael Pacudan in facilitating the morning-evening round-up call maximizing highly powered antennas being installed at the operation center (OpCen) in CDRRMO.

“Tungod niini nga programa sa atong mayor, halos tibuok katawhan sa 79 barangays nasayud ug masayud sa mga inad-adlaw nga panghitabo ug makaesponde ang atong mga lumilihok sa opisina sa mga angayan hatagan og insigida nga pagtagad”, relates Mr. Pajo. The city’s daily radio networking has been interlinked to other agencies like the locally-based Phil. Army (PA), City Police Station GCPS), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) office, and other agencies for monitoring and immediate response.
The Red Cross chair-turned-mayor in coordination with the city director Pablio Benitez, Jr. of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has mandated that every purok of the barangay has its one handheld radio plus another one unit for the punong barangay.

As an operational system being directed during the skills enhancement training-workshop, “ang holder sa radio sa kada purok makig-hinabi ngadto sa kapitan sa dili pa ang roll call time aron sa ingon masayran sa in-charge sa barangay radio base ang mga updates sa kada-purok o matag-sitio panahon na sa scheduled time na sa pagpanawag matag-buntag ug kada-gabii”, further explains Mr. Pajo.
