IS it possible to create a law that prohibits chickens from being raised in residential subdivisions? Saba man gud. I wake up at 4:30 am because of the persistent toktogaok. Sleep deprivation raises my blood pressure and prevents me from fully helping my kids in their studies. One of them has dyslexia. My wife needs a good, uninterrupted sleep because of long hours of work at SM.

And is it possible to organize cockfighters in the Philippines so that they can agree to produce a Code of Ethics? Cockfighters who want to raise chickens in their yards must first ask permission from their neighbors. Declared unethical cockfighters from must be stripped of their rights to play in cockpits.

Some cockfighters have also become so addicted in this ritualistic, animal-cruelty bloodsport that they are more interested in buying the best food and medicines for their chickens than for their wives and children. And children are supposed to be the future our nation, right?

I know this is an uphill climb because many voters are cockfighters. But I have hope in your ability to create change. –Elson T. Elizaga, Barra, Opol, Misamis Oriental
