“Under existing laws, even civilians can make (a) citizen’s arrest if the crimes committed was seen right in your eyes and in front of you and you witnessed it and here some of our policemen did nothing to protect and my family who were under physical attacks right at the barangay hall and at the Central Police Station,” Amado said in an interview with Gold Star Daily at their residence, yesterday.

In an interview over a local radio, Monday morning, Jocelyn Amado said that former San Ignacio chairman Memenio Galan, his wife Vilma, daughter Michelle, and son Joel Jayson “Pedot” Galan attacked her inside their Barangay hall.

Amado complained at the radio station that Vilma Galan grabbed her and spat on her inside their barangay hall at about 1:30pm, Thursday.

Amado added that while she was at the Central Police Station at about 2:30 p.m., her daughter Michelle who followed her at the PNP station bringing her (clothes because her clothes allegedly due grabbing at the barangay hall was torn or destroyed) was mauled again by the Galan Family who were also at the PNP station that time.

The Galans were at the same PNP station to also file a complaint against Amado.

Gold Star Daily failed to meet any of the Galans after several visits at their residence.

In a text message Amado’s lawyer Atty. Gil Unay confirmed that the Amado family will file complaint not only against the Galan Family but also against members of the PNP who failed to perform their duties, act and protect the Amados who were under alleged physical attacks.
