SIXTY-TWO-YEAR-OLD electronic engineer Wilson Lim was badly injured after he was hit by a speeding car at around 11:30 in the morning of July 4 in front of his house on Corrales Extension in Barangay Puntod, this city.

After the moment of impact, the driver drove off without even looking back, leaving Lim unconscious with serious physical injuries, particularly to his head.

Fortunately, a young boy, about 10 years old, and a woman in her 30s, stopped by and helped Lim. He was rushed to Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) where he was treated for days.

Lim had nothing but praises for the two “good Samaritans” as he called them.  Soon, he began his quest in finding out who they were, asking people who were there during the incident for the names and whereabouts of the “Samaritans.”

After three weeks of search, Lim still did not have any information about the persons who rescued him, and so, he decided it was time to ask for city hall’s help in tracking down the two. Lim asked Mayor Oscar Moreno to help him find the two “Samaritans” for the “exceptionally good deed in a crucial situation.”

Moreno agreed to help, and City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) chief Teodoro Sabuga-a Jr., acting on information that the boy was from Camp Evangelista in Patag, sought military assistance.

Soon, Lim was able to talk to a member of the Military Police who was on duty at the time he was sideswiped. The MP was able to give him the name of the 10-year-old boy, a certain Hernan Josh Encabo, son of Meleton Encabo and lives in Zone 5, Camp Evangelista, this city.

The other “good Samaritan” remains unidentified until now. To complete Lim’s search, he has asked for kind-hearted people to help him seek the woman so he could thank her personally.

(Note: Lim said those who are willing to help him can text or call him at 09154486675.)
