MISAMIS ORIENTAL—two schools here in the province were chosen to avail the support from Japan International Cooperating Agency, a school official said Monday.
Opol National Secondary Technical School Principal Anthony Y. Pacamalan in an interview revealed that DepEd Central Office has chosen ONSTS and the Kinuguitan National Agricultual School to be recipient of JICA support as the schools have serve as a pilot schools in the country that operate its technical vocational program relying solely on its resources.
Pacamalan said JICA will be giving one million worth of equipment that will be used by the students to enhance their skills.
He even identified cookery as one of the school programs that will be given emphasis on the aid provided by Jica.
Further, Pacamalan admitted that school administrators of the chosen schools were invited to visit Japan comes October 2015, adding that this is one of the requirements set by Jica so that they will be briefed and witnessed for themselves how Japanese techvoc students perform in the work place.
He added that by September they will be in Manila for an orientation of their travel to Japan.
Pacamalan disclosed that with Jica’s support Onsts students will be given ample preparation to work after graduation as the training they learned in the school will now in conformity with the international standard.
