The lumad families in Barangay Mendis, Pangantu-can Bukidnon who are beneficiaries of the Panta-wid Pamilya program (4P’s) of the Department of Social Welfare and Deve-lopment (DSWD 10) now fear being delisted from the government’s dole out program as soldiers in the area interrogate them and force them to affirm their supposed involvement with the New Peoples Army.

Jomorito Goaynon, chairperson of the lumad group Kalumbay said that there are around 90 panta-wid beneficiaries in the said barangay.

“Upon claiming their financial assistance, ginasu-kit-sukit sila kung tinuod silang membro sa 4P’s ug unsa ilang kalambigitan sa mga NPA maong nanghad-lok sila,” Goaynon said.

Meanwhile, Oliver Inodeo, 4P’s spokesperson of DSWD-10 confirmed receiving the same reports.

He even confirmed that some of those slain are beneficiairies of Pantawid Pamilya.

“We will look into it and we will address this report,” he said.

He clarified that DSWD would only delist benefi-ciaries who failed to meet the requirements and con-ditions or if the beneciaries themselves withdrawn from the program.

Dili sila angay mahadlok sa unsa mang pagpanghulga kay among opisina ra ang dunay gahum sa pagtangtang,” he said.
