Family subsumes governance

BECAUSE our man, “Super Digong” Duterte, is headed for a landslide victory in the May 9, 2016 polls, Imperial Manila, the filthy rich and the trapos are at their worst. They are now unfairly accusing our man as worse than two of our former presidents–the late dictator Ferdinand E. Marcos and Erap Estrada, now running for reelection as mayor of Manila. However, the facts say otherwise.

Here is my take on the ponderable:

• On one hand, Marcos was undoubtedly a dictator who ruthlessly trampled our Constitution to serve his vested interest. Our man, on the other hand, decided to run for President because he believes that our Constitution is our supreme law so much so that while the United Nations laws form part of the laws of our land, all its edicts are subsumed by our Constitution. In fact, when our man accepted our plea for him to run for President, he did so by putting premium on our Constitution and at the same time put an end to the accusation that he is a violator of human rights. Truly, our man’s record is not unlike those of our soldiers in times of war. Simply put, both in self-defense and in defense of strangers the aggressor is killed without any court order. Gets mo?
• Because our Constitution mandates that only “natural-born Filipinos” are eligible to be elected president, vice president and senators, and a foundling is not listed as a “natural-born Filipino,” Mayor Duterte is running for President to ensure that our country does not have an “American President” or one without any visible proof of love and loyalty to our country and people.
• History, through our courts, has declared Marcos as a merciless dictator but in all the years that our man has ruled Davao City with an iron fist, he has never been accused in court of being a dictator to this day.
• While our man has confessed to have summarily executed a cowardly kidnapper, the late Marcos refused to admit till death that he killed Nalundasan, a consistent winner in the Ilocos region and a popularly known political nemesis of his father.
• While our man has voluntarily confessed to having two wives (the first filed annulment of their marriage and after it was granted by the court, “Super Digong” married a nurse after he impregnated her) and to be a womanizer. He is nothing compared with the other two presidents as far as lack of respect and love, not lust, for women.
• Super Digong was never accused of amassing wealth while in office unlike Marcos and Erap who have been found guilty of unexplained wealth by the courts.
• While our man’s tongue needs a lot of taming, he is man enough to apologize for his mistake in using Pope Francis to lambast our government for the horrendous traffic snarl. But the other two former presidents have never asked forgiveness for their heinous crimes.
• Finally, Super Digong has proven to one and all that despite his weaknesses, he loves his family far more than he loves himself. In fact, among his compelling rationale for non-interest in the presidency is because his family is against the presidency unlike the two other former presidents’ respective families.

The most compelling reason why a good many Kagay-anons, both young and old, and of all walks in life are joining  the ever-increasing volunteers for the Team Robust Rufus Harus is because the coming May 9, 2016 elections is one moment in time where the family takes the center stage.

Undoubtedly, Rep. Rufus Rodriguez is a devoted family man even as his opponents have little respect for women and their respective families. As I’ve already written in the past, here are the uncontested facts:

• Robust, consistent valedictorian and highly educated Rodriguez has only one loving, beautiful and devoted wife with a unica hiya and a well-bred child lives in their ancestral home at Nazareth, this city.
• Old and hardly able to walk alone, Dongkoy Emano, abandoned by his loving, beautiful and caring Kagay-anon wife, lives without his family in his large and imposing mansion (but owned on paper by a political ally). Now sickly, Emano is surrounded (not hostaged) by his fully armed mean-looking security personnel, daredevil drivers, and domestic helpers up in Barangay Macasandig.
• Dismissed Mayor Oscar Moreno lives with his well-connected businesswoman wife kuno in a house but definitely not a home because a family lives in a home where there is love, caring, understanding and nightly sharing of a master’s bedroom of man and wife.
• All the siblings of Congressman Rufus are wholeheartedly supporting his candidacy while the other two have family squabbles involving inheritance. I dare say that anyone who has to go to court involving family money and family inherited property has no business whatsoever to aspire for any public office because governance is a public trust so much so that whoever cannot trust his own siblings can never be trusted in public office.

With Duterte and Team Robust Rufus, we will attain our dream of dreams.
