BUTUAN CITY- The Philippine Army’s 401st Infantry Brigade headed by the brigade’s commanding officer Col. Alexander Macario sponsored gift-giving and feeding program to 200 lumad children in Barangay Lucac, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur in time of the holiday season and celebration of the 80th founding anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, last week.

The lumad children aside from receiving variety of gifts, toys and other goodies, army personnel of the 401st Infantry Brigade also entertained the children with film showing which includes AFP’s capabilities, peace efforts and Transformation Roadmap while taking their food during the Feeding Program portion as one of series of activities.

Barangay Captain Ramona Pajo of Lucac, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur said the lumad childrenmajority of whom were her constituents were all smiling and thankful throughout the merry activities sponsored by the soldiers most of expressed their gratitude posting their huge “thank you” posters.

Macario for his part also thanked the children for heeding to their invitations saying “Every child deserved to experience the joy and the spirits of the Holiday Season especially our lumad children, we want to share our blessing and joys with them. For coming, we would like to thanked their parents, relatives taking care of them for allowing them to have some precious moments with our brigade”.

“For having share the spirit with this lumad children as I personally see how happy they are in their faces. I am very much happy, I have no idea even on how to express my joy. This is the happiest Christmas I ever had that is sharing of our, my blessings with the less fortunate lumad kids. Christmas was designed for the children actually that is why I am happy” Macario concludes.
