Expectant mothers of Lanao del Sur may now avail of the services like Normal Spontaneous Delivery (NSD), Maternity Care Package and other Philhealth maternity benefits with the upgrading of the local government unit’s provincial health clinic to a birthing center on December 10, 2015 at the Provincial Capitol Complex, Buadi Sacayo, Marawi City.

During the turn-over ceremony, Dr. Alinader Minalang, head of the Integrated Provincial Health Office-Lanao del Sur of the DOH-ARMM, along with his assistant, Dr. Shalimar Sani-Rakiin, handed instruments and devices to be used in the Birthing Center to Governor Mamintal “Bombit” Alonto Adiong, Jr. through his medical officers, Dr. Mangoda Dima, Dr. Alejandrito S. Descallar and Dr. Imelda Gandamra-Taib. The center also offers free laboratory, Xay, and ultrasound to indigent patients. Aside from maternal care, it also has outpatient, pediatric and dental services. Indigent patients shall also receive free medicines.

“The Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur is committed to provide quality health care to our constituents,” Governor Adiong said. “The opening of the Birthing Clinic enables expectant mothers to have access to essential health services that will ensure their survival and well-being,” said Minalang.
