MARAWI City – The Municipality of Tamaparan, Lanao del Sur, was given a grant of P3 million from the Spanish government through the Office of the Presidential Assistant on the Peace Process yesterday at the Governor’s Office Executive Conference Room, Provincial Capitol Compound, Marawi City.

The fund will be used for the rehabilitation of the town’s public market to serve its people and stakeholder.

Sultan Topaan Disomimba, mayor of Tamparan, received the check, in the name of the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur, from Asec. Jennifer S. Oreta of the Opapp.

He was assisted by Provincial Administrator Mocamad M. Raki-in, Provincial Accountant Norhana Sumandar and Provincial Engineer Sirad Laut.

Governor Mamintal “Bombit” Alonto Adiong, Jr., who was on official travel, was happy to accommodate the turnover ceremonies in his office.

“Our constituents in Tamparan, such as the farmers, fishermen and the entire community, would benefit from a rehabilitated public market,” Adiong said in a phone-patch interview.

“Our farmers and fishermen would have a place accessible and conducive for them to sell their products while the community would be assured of purchasing fresh agricultural products.”

“After continuous follow-up for the funds for this project, we are so happy that finally, it shall materialize,” Provincial Accountant Sumandar said. pr
