Police detain, file plaint against sex broker

AUTHORITIES yesterday pressed charges against the self-confessed procurer who claimed that she was the one who arranged the meeting between an underaged teenager and the suspected killer in Lapasan on Sunday.

Charged with qualified human trafficking before the City Prosecutor’s Office was 19-year old  April Jean Albit a.k.a. Laling.

Albit was detained at the Agora police station after she went to see the police to deny any involvement in the murder of the teenager from Pagatpat. She however volunteered the information that she arranged for a sexual partner for the suspect identified only as “Jason Caram” or “Jason Caramba,” supposedly from Cebu.

Chief Insp. Ariel Philip Pontillas, chief of Agora police station, said Albit was answerable for qualified human trafficking.

“Ang  babayi nga iyang gibaligya ngadto ni Jason usa ka menor de edad,”

Albit said she was prepared to accept her fate. “Ako nang dawaton ang akong kaso kay nabuhat man pod nako ang pagbugaw nilang duha,” she said.

Pontillas said investigators were not ruling out the possibility that Albit served as an accomplice to the murder even as he expressed doubt over her claim that the suspect who used two names–“Jason Caram” and “Jason Caramba”–contacted Albit directly via cellphone.

“Ngano naka-kuha siya og number ni April Jean? Makaduda kaayo. Ngano nga kadto man gyud nga babae ang gi-demand sa suspect? Si April Jean pa gyud ang nag-hatud sa victim. Nag-sige og text si April Jean og ang suspect apil na ang pagpabalik sa victim on Monday dawn,” Pontillas said.

The victim was found dead inside Room 314 of the hotel past midnight Tuesday.

“Murag set-up ang nahitabo. Nangita sila og tawo nga mo-connect sa victim aron mogawas. Makaduda ka ngano nga ang victim man gyud ang giequest,” he said.  .
