LOCAL legislators yesterday elected Councilor George Goking as president of the Philippine Councilors’ League (PCL) chapter in Cagayan de Oro.
Goking faced no opposition as he was chosen as leader of the PCL chapter. He replaced Councilor Leon Gan.
Local legislators also elected Councilor Romeo Caliso as PCL chapter vice president, Councilor Reuben Daba as secretary, Councilor Jay Pascual as treasurer, Ma. Lourdes Gaane as auditor, Suzette Daba as information officer, and Edna Dahino as business manager.
Members of the PCL Board in the city are councilors Ian Mark Nacaya, Enrico Salcedo, Teodulfo Lao Jr., Annie Daba, Councilor Zaldy Ocon, Nadya Elipe, Lordan Suan, Dometilo Acenas Jr. and Gan.
Councilors Elipe, Gan, Suan and Acenas did not show up during the elections but they were elected to the board in absentia.
The PCL election here was supervised by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Goking said the local PCL chapter is planning on inviting Interior Secretary Mike Sueno to swear in the new PCL officers here. (nitz arancon)
