BUTUAN City–Still unidentified men shot and killed a police officer at a busy commercial area in Cabadbaran City in Agusan del Norte on Monday night.
Police identified the victim as PO3 Sherwin Labial, a member of the Cabadbaran police station 1.
PO3 Jershwin Paler, who is investigating the case, said the victim on a motorcycle was attacked while he stopped to check on something on Curato St..
He was attacked by two gunmen riding a a motorcycle, said Paler.
Police said there were indications that the killers had followed Labial, and shot him at close range when the victim stopped.
Authorities could not say if the killing was related to Labial’s work as a police officer.
