LET’S just go straight to the point: The social media platform has so many self-proclaimed attorneys.

My newsfeeds have become annoying that I had to do a general cleaning of my social media accounts the other day which took me hours.

Why did I do that? Simple, they always say the mainstream media are biased. They think the news reports are biased, and their views are more credible than what the international and local media have been producing. But truth is, the news are “biased” to them because it goes against their opinion. These self-proclaimed attorneys have been doing the rounds on social media, trying to make the impression that they have more to offer when it comes to insights, facts and a clear understanding and that, supposedly, they have the basis to back their statements and accusations when they really have none.

The funny thing about these people is, they get their news overall from the mainstream media. How ironic is that? They take advantage of a trending story, spark heated arguments, and bully. That is happening in this country and even in the government. All this just to gain more “likes.”

I have to agree with that hoax “Deadline” trend the other day. Next to the United States, the Philippines topped the list of countries with the most gullible people on social media.

Don’t get me wrong–I welcome any argument as much as the next guy but there are limits. I cannot prolong any argument with people who do not even bother to listen. They have their own views and it seems like even if it’s right or wrong, these self-proclaimed attorneys have better answers to give which are pretty much one-sided.

I have deleted almost 100 people these week for being… hmmm… arrogant. The word “stupid” is too harsh.

Please, if you start an argument regardless of what the topic is, always be open-minded and try to listen instead of trying to look for an excuse for not listening to reason itself.

Take Sen. Leila de Lima’s predicament. She is being bullied into a corner. It’s not because I believe she is innocent but because it wasn’t proven she is not. But what is happening right now? When de Lima’s name starts popping on my news feeds, I see these troll pages trying to crucify her even more, and then you read the comments full of “anti-D5.” Wow, the trolls are definitely moving up the ladder!

These self-proclaimed attorneys are everywhere–you can find them on your news feeds, they have more understanding of the law compared to real attorneys and judges, and believe that their solutions, ideas, and views are the real deal. It’s as if their views will save the world.
