The jeepney driver, Randy Cordero of Calaanan, Barangay Canitoan, suffered fractures.

Cordero said he was contracted by the Eduria family to drive them to a public cemetery in Libona, Bukidnon.

“Pakanaug na unta mi pero pagliko kalit lang nga nibuto ang break. Kusog kayo ang dagan mao nga akong gilikay nga mahulog sa pangpang pero kalit lang nalintuwad ang jeep,” he said.

Fifteen of the over 20 passengers were rushed to the hospital; some passengers were able to jump before the vehicle plunged into a ravine, said PO3 Dexter Lumantas of the Cugman police.

“Gikan sila sa Sitio Palalan unya pag-abot Sapong sa Purok 7, kalit lang mibuto ang break nga pakanaug na sila,” he said.

Lumantas said the jeepney was wrecked.

He said villagers were the ones who helped the passengers and rushed them to the hospital.
