The 403rd Infantry (Peacemaker) Brigade of the Army’s 4th Infantry Division, through its line unit, the 8th Infantry (Dependable) Battalion, opened its second batch of Computer Literacy Training in Barangay Butong, Quezon, Bukidnon on Jan. 20. The activity was facilitated by COL Antonio Bautista, Jr, commanding officer of the 8th Infantry Battalion, in coordination with the Local Government Unit of Quezon Bukidnon with its Local Chief Executive Mayor Gregorio Gue. Some 52 Manobo and Pulangihon Lumad students coming from the different barangays of the municipality enrolled in the said training.

The Computer Literacy Training is a convergence of efforts of various organizations that is aimed at helping capacitate the indigenous people. The 4th Infantry Division provided a mobile computer laboratory in order to reach the Lumad communities. Meantime, the instructors are provided by the Tesda and the DepEd of Bukidnon through the Alternative Learning System (ALS) teachers.

The training that is scheduled for 45 days was hosted by the Busco Sugar Milling Company and will be held at Busco Academy with the support of Quezon town in Bukidnon. (4id)
