The Cagayan Electric Power and Light Co. Inc. (Cepalco) yesterday announced a scheduled nine-hour power interruption in some parts of this city on Sunday due to maintenance work by the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP).

NGCP has reportedly advised Cepalco that it would conduct an annual preventive maintenance schedule of a high-voltage equipment, associated protection system and secondary devices at the Tagoloan substation in Misamis Oriental.

Cepalco said it would conduct line maintenance works to take advantage of the situation.

The scheduled power interruption is expected to run for nine hours from 8 am to 5 pm, affecting Bulua, Iponan, Consolacion, Puntod, Macabalan, Kauswagan, and all of Corrales extension and Osmeña extension.

Cepalco would also conduct load transferring in some parts of Camaman-an, Carmen, Patag, Balulang and Lumbia, but these areas would only experience an hour of power interruption from 6:45 am to 7:45 am.

The load transferring would also affect some parts of Macasandig, Taguanao, Nazareth and the city proper from 8 am to 9:30 am (one hour 30 minutes) and again at 5:15 pm to 5:45 pm (30 minutes).

Power would however be restored once the line and switching works are completed.
