The temperature hit 31.8 degrees Celsius  in the city and Misamis Oriental at 2 pm yesterday, a point higher than the average normal April temperature in the last 30 years.

On Wednesday, Pagasa recorded a temperature of 31.6 degrees at around 2 pm in Cagayan de Oro and Misamis Oriental.

Fortich said Pagasa’s forecast is the temperatures would rise from 26.5 to 32 degrees Celsius from 10 am to 2 pm today.

She said Pagasa sees the temperatures to be normal during the dry season vis-à-vis Pagasa’s April records from 1981 to 2010.

She said the average temperature for April in 30 years average 31.7  degrees Celsius.

On Wednesday, Fortich said, “Mas init pa ang normal nga temperature sa lawas sa tawo  nga 36 degrees Celsius  kay sa atong actual temperature karon nga 31.6 degrees Celsius ra.”

Fortich said Pagasa still expects the dry season to continue until the last day of April.

She said there is a ridge of high pressure area in Luzon and Visayas and easterly winds from the Pacific Ocean. (nitz arancon)
