ANOTHER casualty has been brought to fore — the disruption of court litigations in the strife-torn city — as the battle in Marawi rages for more than a month now.

The Marawi crisis has affected more than 240 lawyers, Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Marawi-Lanao del Sur president Amidoden Macalantap said in an interview here.

Exacerbating the situation of the lawyers’ case litigations are the states of their houses they left in Marawi city.

Late last week, however, the IBP turned over financial assistance here to affected lawyers in Marawi. IBP national president Rosario Setias Reyes personally turned over the money to Macalantap at Luxe Hotel in Limketkai Center, this city.

Macalantap expressed gratitude saying the financial assistance would go a long way for the recovery of their members in Marawi who have evacuated since May 23 to their relatives in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte and in Cagayan de Oro. (nitz arancon)
