VICE Mayor Raineir Joaquin Uy has asked the city council’s police and public safety committee to speed up its work to revive the Operation Kahusay ug Kalinaw in an effort to strengthen the city’s security measures.
“Ako dako kaayo nga uyon og kinahanglan nga kini dali-on,” said Uy, adding that the OKK would serve as a coordination center for various law enforcement agencies, military, and government offices.
Uy said he also asked the city council’s committees on laws and rules, ways and means, finance and social responsibility, barangay, and trade and industry to look into possible sources of funds for the planned revival of the OKK.
“Dako kini nga plano apan kinahanglan dali-on kini nga mapatuman tungod kay daghan na nga mga member sa terrorist group who were arrested here in the city,” Uy said.
Uy said this after the Martial Law Special Task Group arrested suspected Maute Group spies in Barangay Macasandig on Wednesday. The military said the arrest foiled a plan to carry out a bomb attack here.
