MISAMIS Oriental Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano said it is possible that former and incumbent officials of the province are in President Duterte’s so-called narco-list, and that they should mend their ways now.
In a dispatch yesterday, the capitol quoted Emano as “encouraging political leaders [allegedly involved in illegal drugs] in Misamis Oriental to give themselves in (sic) while there is still time.”
“Personal nako nga gihangyo kadtong mga mayores ug uban pang lideres sa lalawigan sa Misamis Oriental nga posibleng anaa sa narco-list ni President Duterte nga boluntaryo nga motahan na sa ilang kaugalingon. Kini samtang aduna pay igo nga panahon aron sila makabag-o sa ilang mga kinabuhi,” Emano was quoted as saying by his press office.
Emano said he has heard talk about the alleged involvement of some officials in the illegal drug trade in the province.
The governor however declined to name any suspect, saying that he has no basis.
