THE capitol yesterday gave the Misamis Oriental police communication equipment so that officers would no longer spend for prepaid cards for their cellphones for police matters using their personal money.

Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano handed over communication equipment to the Provincial Police Office right after the 3rd quarter meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council at Mallberry Suites.

Given to police provincial director Senior Supt. Rolando Destura were 84 hand-held radios and 28 base radios. Edward Bhagwani, director of the Department of Interior and Local Government in the province, stood as a witness.

“Kanunay man gud kulang ang load sa cellphone sa atong mga pulis, mao nang nagpalit kita og mga radio communication. Aron ilang magamit pag-maintain sa peace and order sa ilang mga  area of responsibility,” Emano said.

He said the money used in buying the equipment was sourced from the capitol’s peace and order fund.

Emano said the hand-held and base radios are to be distributed to the 25 police stations in Misamis Oriental, Provincial Public Safety Company, the 101st Maneuver Company, and the Misamis Oriental Police Office.
