AFTER eight years of hiding, a 46-year old fugitive accused of rape in Bukidnon has been arrested in Barangay Bugo, this city, authorities said.
Combined forces of the Puerto police station and Malaybalay City Police office arrested Ceriaco Macabudbud at around 1:40 pm Thursday at the Bugo public cemetery.
SPO3 Jerson Codillo of Puerto police said Macabudbud was arrested based on a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Pelagio Estopia of Branch 8 of the Regional Trial Court of Malaybalay City for two counts of rape in relation to 7610 and act of lasciviousness. No bailbond was recommended.
Macabudbud, police said, went into hiding at Villa Trinitas Subdivision in Barangay Bugo after he was slapped with rape charges.
“Didto sa Malaybalay na-commit ang crime kay nakapuyo man ang suspect didto before siya nagtago dinhi sa Cagayan,” Codillo alleged.
The suspect is now in the custody of Malaybalay City Police Office.
Meanwhile, the operatives of Carmen police served an arrest warrant inside the Lumbia Rehabilitation and Detention Center on Thursday morning.
Chief Insp.Ritchie Salva, chief of the Carmen police said his operatives served the warrant of arrest against Marjhon Layawan, 22, of Zone 10 in Barangay Carmen for two counts of rape.
The warrant was issued by Judge Jose Escobido of Branch 37 of the Regional Trial Court here. No bailbond was recommended.
“Kinahanglan gyud i-serve ang warrant bisan na-detain na ang suspect kay ma-pending man,” Salva explained.
Layawan was detained not because of the rape charges but because of another case.
