A WOMAN, allegedly distraught over being forced to marry a man she did not love, took her life inside her room in Barbara Subdivision, Kauswagan, this city, yesterday morning.
SPO4 Fernando Lasponia identified the suicide as Dianne Faustino, 23, of Timago, Talakag town in Bukidnon.
Lasponia said Faustino had worked as a house help for the family of one Jojo Escano who is abroad.
Police investigation showed that there was no foul play in Faustino’s suicide by hanging.
Lasponia said the victim’s sister, a minor, discovered the body.
The child said her sister drank a bottle of rum the night before because their parents were adamant that her sister should marry a man they chose for her.
“Nagu-ol siya kay pugson man siya og minyo sa lalaki nga wala niya magustohi,” the victim’s sister told police.
Faustino’s remains have been brought to Bollozos Funeral Homes. (nitz arancon)
