The seven officials of the local  PDP council called the move a “destabilization” effort outside the bounds of the law and the party’s constitution.

They said the incident was “a destabilization plot by the few rogue members that should not be countenanced and (they) ought to be held accountable to deter other like-minded members to do the same in the future.”

The party’s president is Sen. Aquilino Martin Pimentel III while its secretary general if Davao del Norte Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez. Both are former heads of the Senate and Lower House.

The resolution expressed “full and unwavering support” to Pimentel’s party presidency and the rest of the national officers.

They called on President Duterte, PDP-Laban chairman, to maintain stability in the current leadership so the party so it could prepare for next year’s elections.

The local PDP-Laban council resolution was approved and signed by Barangay Gusa chairman and party council president Marlo Tabac, PDP council vice president lawyer Enrique Naduma, secretary general Welvert Cuenca, treasurer Antonio Pontifedra, auditor Dante Roa and committee chairpersons Michael Cagulada and Edna Jangao.
