Iligan City — Residents here have been advised to bear with delivered water in the coming days after a main pipe of the water supply of the city burst.

City councilor Renato Ancis, chair of the committee on water said a pipe in Barangay Tominobo burst last Friday night.

Ancis explained that efforts have been made to address the situation.

“But in the meantime, the people will have to bear with it,” he said adding that the Iligan City Water District are doing their best to address the situation.

However, it could take longer to repair the busted pipe since the equipment for the repair are still to be acquired.

In the meantime, water supplies will be distributed with the aid of the Bureau of Fire Protection as it will be their firetrucks and water containers that will be used in the distribution.

He explained that the water supply had to be stopped since it would flood the area near the National Steel Corporation and neighboring areas.

It posed serious dangers to people around the areas affected in Tominobo to Dalipuga, the councilor added.

Residents here have been busy calling radio stations or sending text messages to media outlets or posting their frustrations on social media.
